Please review the descriptions below and see what you may be interested in doing.

Positions will be filled in a first come first serve basis with a back up list for multiple requests.

Just let us know what you would like to do on the registration form.

Volunteering Basics:

All volunteers are responsible for being able to follow directions given to them by the Race Directors and event Senior Staff.

All Volunteers will need to bring the following with them to the event:

  • Comfortable Folding Chair

  • A Small cooler as a minimum.

  • Some basic snacks. (We will feed you lunch and supply you with water and drinks for the day!)

  • If you have a FRS/GMRS two way radio and want to bring it, we will be operating on them during the race. Otherwise we will provide you with one for the event.

  • Cell phone for emergencies or as a backup.

  • Any special medications for yourself (ie: Epi-Pen) in case of emergencies.

Volunteers need to be at the race headquarters at 7:30am the day of the race to check in and get assignments. The Volunteer and Staff meeting will be at 8:00am race day. Volunteers are given the same benefits as racers, as they get t-shirts, are eligible for drawings and get to camp (when available) at our race sites.

Here is a schedule for the day:

Volunteer Registration 7:30am

Staff and Volunteer Pre-Race Meeting 8:00am

All Volunteers to their positions 9:30am

Race Start 10:30am

Race Cutoff 4:30pm

Volunteer and Staff Take Down 5:30pm.

Volunteers assigned to various manned checkpoints or "outposts" will be informed by the race staff as to when they can break down and return to the start. This will be pre-determined at the Staff and Volunteer meeting.

Volunteers must remember not to give out any advance information on the course or the event which is not authorized by the Race Director to be given to the participants.

Also, be prepared to adjust if needed to additional responsibilities. We want our staff to “think on their feet”.

(Each certificate is transferable at 1/2 its value, 25%) you will also be able to combine the certificates, if you volunteer at two races or more for a max of 100% entry! In short volunteer at two of our races and race in the third at no charge!

You will also receive a race t-shirt or hat for each event you volunteer at.
